She is a former music teacher, course liaison, and national consultant for Yamaha Canada Music and their corporate school where she taught both students and teachers alike. She was also formerly Newmarket’s RCM Exams Representative until 2024. She is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association, and the Association of Canadian Women Composers. Currently, she is the Visual and Performing Arts Newmarket coordinator for the Young Artist Showcase Series; and the director of MuSix Studio and Services, where her family of six maintains a busy teaching and performing schedule. Active as a collaborative pianist, she has worked alongside various studios, ensembles, and soloists.
In her spare time, Sheila enjoys writing compositions, transcriptions and arrangements. Most notably, her arrangement of Libertango for piano four-hands was featured on CBC's In Concert by the piano-duo La Fiammata. Her latest compositions for piano trio made its world debut performance in July 2023 at the Canadian Music Centre and in February 2024 at the Newmarket Old Town Hall. Sheila is a graduate of the Royal Conservatory of Music and the University of Toronto. She holds a black belt in Goju-ryu Karate and maintains an active lifestyle with her husband.
