The Rotary Club of Pickering took part in the annual Santa Claus Parade on Saturday, November 22, hosted by the City of Pickering in partnership with the Kinsmen & Kinette Club.
With extravagant floats from Pickering businesses and community groups like the Pickering Rotary, marching bands, and Santa Claus himself, the Santa Claus Parade was a spectacle to kick off the holiday season.
Several members walked along with the Pickering Rotary Club float. “We had a fantastic time participating in this longstanding community tradition, as a leading nonprofit organization serving the community,” said Don Alton, president of the Club.
Participating club members distributed candies to children and adults alike, along the parade route—from Glenanna Road to The Shops at Pickering City Centre parking lot.
While they dressed in holiday-themed costumes, the float was tastefully decorated by the Club’s members, to reflect the parade’s theme, “No Place Like Home for the Holidays.”
