1990-92 - Club searching for Town Park to put on Rotary Name
1993 – presentation at a President’s Club Meeting
. Crombie Royal Commission / established in 1988
. Waterfront Regeneration Trust for Lake Ontario / est in 1992
1993 – Pickering and Ajax Clubs partnered and arranged a dinner
meeting with David Crombie1993-1995 – 2 Rotary Clubs, Towns of Pickering and Ajax, MTRCA,
and other groups worked to develop Waterfront Trail
through Pickering and Ajax1996 – Bridge built over Duffin’s Creek
. Our contribution $ 15,000
1996-1998 – Club remained involved with Towns and MTRCA as partners
1998 – Final Task Force report to the Town of Pickering
1999– Rotary Park established at Council Meeting
. Our contribution $ 100,000 in goods and services
2001 - June 25th : Town Bylaw 5859/01
. Name “ Rotary Frenchman’s Bay West Park “
. Park to blend with the theme of the Lake Ontario Waterfront Trail
. Environmentally sensitive areas will remain in their natural state
2001 - October 13th : Official Opening with unveiling of the sign
2000-2005 – other Waterfront Milestones
. Millennium Square at the foot of Liverpool Road
. Petticoat Creek Bridge at the end of Marksbury across to
Petticoat Creek Conservation
2006 – August 26 Unveiling of Trailhead Sign
2007-2010 – Park, Sign, and Garden
