ROTARY INFORMATION

FiresideMeetings:

Fireside meetingsare a simple, but effective, way of combining Rotary information andfellowship. Arrange for the club to meet in the evening at the home of amember. Divide into small groups, each to meet in a separate room.  Preparea topics or questions for the groups to discuss. After a predetermined timebring the groups together and let the leader of each group discuss theirfindings.

1918-19     Rotary enters South America with a club inMontevideo Uruguay.

                Anew hemisphere is opened with the Rotary Club of Manila, Philippines.

1920-21    The first convention held outside the U.S. isheld at Edinburgh, Scotland.

1923-24    The first House of Friendship was instituted atthe R.I. Convention in Toronto, Canada.

1929-30   Rotarycelebrates it's 25th anniversary by holding it's annual convention in Chicago,whereRotary began.
